Voices of Belonging und Resistance

This programme invites writers to share their cartography of becoming, how their writing empowered identity evaluations, supported the discovery of new possibilities of participation and dissent. A collaboration of the The Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre (JHGC) and the Sylt Foundation.

Topic: Language and identity in poetical writing

All three writers are polyglot and shift between languages in their works. What does this mean for the lyrical identity of the poets and how each language might trigger different ideas and topics?

Guy Helminger is one of the two first authors invited by the Sylt Foundation to join the new Residency exchange programm Rhine-South Africa Fellows which is run together with stimmen Afrikas at Allerweltshaus Cologne/Germany.

Guy Helminger was born in 1963 in Esch / Alzette (Luxemburg) and studied German Literature and Philosophie in Luxemburg, Heidelberg and Cologne. Read more
